Big Poo's back posting? Get out of town.

Yup, I know it's been awhile since I posted last but things have been buck wild these last few months. Between the Comic Con and finishing up on "Chowder" and working on the house, I didn't really have any spare time to update this thing. I'm sure most of you know that the studio said "nah" to continuing "Chowder" despite the ratings being really good still. We had just hit our stride too as far as pushing the comedy as far as it can go and writting some of the best episodes when the studio pulled the rug out. I definitely had another "Arborian" story in me, where Mung and the gang actually have to go to "Arboria" and see where the Arborians come from. Hiliarious. Maybe. Yo, but there are still a lot more of what I think are some of the funniest Chowder episodes yet that are airing in next coming months. Look out for "The Heist", and "The Scariest House In Marzipan" which is a half hour Halloween episode, and finale where we take a look at Chowder in the future. Bad-ass.

Early Kid Cosmo designs. For realz.

Early, early, Kid Cosmo designs and ideas from like two years ago or something. Thought I'd put em' up for kicks.

The X-Men? Why not? I'm bored.

So, during my last few weeks on "Chowder" I had some free time, and busted these out. There's more but I got tired of scanning drawings. Maybe I'll put them up later. Maybe.

Some new designs?! Finally!

Yo, so this was an idea I pitched to Cartoon Network a few months after pitching to them "Goblin Jim", which I still think was a badass show idea. I tried to skew this to their new "Tween based shows" that they were aiming for but I never heard back from them. But I ain't angry, the studio was going through a really weird transition at the time and some really good people got let go and then the announcement of the "Reality Shows" happened so I'm kinda glad this kinda fell through the cracks. These are just a few of the many drawings I gave the studio in my pitch pack. Take a look, they aight.

Yo! What are you doing reading this? Go out and buy this now.

Seriously, Chowder season 2 just came out and it's like 10 bucks at Wal-Mart. Everyone can afford 10 bucks. It's got a lot of funny episodes on it and some not so funny, but for 10 bucks what the heck?
On a side note, it looks like my time on Chowder might be ending. I'm on my last storyboard and there's been no word yet if and when the show will get picked up for more episodes. It's pretty sad, I've worked with the same bunch of talented artists for years now. Ever since "The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. I got to give Carl mad props for making one of the funnest and most unique shows I've ever had the pleasure of working on. Season 1 of Chowder was tough, (I even left the show to go to Disney) but I came back and later I realized that it was a mistake leaving. But yo, you gotta find things out the hard way. I'm not sure what direction Cartoon Network is going in, but I hope it doesn't phase out comedy shows completely. It's what made the studio what it is. Anyway, looks like it's time to start putting my portfolio together again. (I hate that.)
Oh, and I know I haven't updated this thing in months. But I'll be posting up some cool new stuff soon. Maybe.

So check it out, this was an idea for a series I pitched to Cartoon Network some time ago which got shot down, (of course). Their exact words, "It feels too young. We're looking for something a bit older, something that will appeal to the 10-14 year olds." Whatever, I'm not bitter. Just angry. It's a shame, it woulda been a cool-ass cartoon.

This was the main character, "Goblin Jim" and his sidekick "Cornelius" or "Corny" for short, who was a minature unicorn Jim rode on.

Here's sketches of some of the other incidentals from the world of "Goblin Jim." I'm telling ya, it would of been a cool series. Oh well.

So check this out. My cousin made this incredible "Chowder" cake for his daughter's birthday cause she's a huge fan of the show.

Here's a line-up of characters from an idea I had a loooong time ago. Never went anywhere. Boo-hoo.

Here's some more Wonder Con pics.

These were some pics taken by Nate Funaro. He was working the Cartoon Network booth all weekend long with Janet Dimon. Props go out to both of them. I'm glad Nate got a picture of the caricatures me and Carl did of eachother on a poster.

The WonderCon in S.F.

So check it out, here are some pics from the Wondercon that took place in San Francisco this weekend. We were there for the "Chowder" panel where they had with Mr. Greenblatt himself answerin' questions and all that and talking about the show. Those who were there were lucky enough to see a couple of new Chowder episodes that haven't aired yet. I gotta give Carl props for being up on stage by himself and not freezing up. I definitely would of cursed up a storm. Carl also did a signing after the panel in which he let me be a part of. The line for autographs was buck-
wild but after about an hour and a half we got through everyone. We must've drawn about 1000 Shnitzels and Chowders. Who would of thought that Chowder was so dang popular? I gotta thank Carl for letting me sit in on the signing. Seeing all the fans of the show was definitely an inspiration. All in all, eh, I'd say it was a pretty good weekend.

It's on.

it's good to be postin' again. I took a long hiatus from my blog. I've been boardin' like a maniac again but I just didn't have the time to bust some pics up till now. These thumbnail pages are a little som'n I came up with when I was on "Powerpuff Girls" at Cartoon Network. I specifically designed them like this so I can easily keep track of the story beats and gags that I'm doing. It works.

The Re-cap.

Man, it's been a while since I last posted. Things have been a bit buck-wild. Quick re-cap: I left "Chowder" and went over to Disney to work on a new show called "Phineas & Ferb" but that ended up only lasting for about three months so I came back to "Chowder" where I now reside. I'm back to trying to write funny dialogue and drawing funny pictures at Cartoon Network. Here's a quick preview of some of the boards I've been working on. These scenes are from a new Chowder episode called "The Arborians", which probably won't be aired till sometime later this year.

I found this board I did a while back ago in my garage. Thought I'd post it to reminisce a bit. Old skool.

The following were supposed to be part of the big "Cheese Invasion"crossover show. But sadly it got cut. (At least I got paid)

As promised, here's some quick snapshots of some Billy & Mandy stuff. I'll put more up later when I feel like it, aight.

Chowder Boards. (If anyone asks, you ain't seen them here)

The following are some board sequences from my time on "Chowder." Which unfortunately was short lived. I gave in to the all mighty power of Disney and left the show. I gave four good boards before I left and the following are scenes from my last episode. These I did in pencil and ink. I got pretty confident after a while and switched to doing my boards in pen for a little flash. Who gives?
I'll be posting up some artwork from "Billy & Mandy" soon. So stay tuned. I gotta dig through about 50 storyboards to find some good stuff.

I'd try to explain this drawing, but I decided nah.

I put these shots up to kinda give a sense of the world that was "Chowder."
